Apple Slaw

Crunchy, creamy and perfect

It's not all about meat. Sometimes vege's should be allowed to shine. This slaw recipe makes a delicious, crunchy bowl of salad, that is also awesome on burgers or as a side.

Ingredients

Creamy Dressing

½ cup creamy mayonnaise (we use Best Foods Mayonnaise)

2 Tbsp Cider Vinegar

1 Tbsp Honey or Maple Syrup

Veg

1 Savoy Cabbage

2 grated Carrots

2 stalks Celery

2 apples (with skin on)

2 stalks Spring Onion

Salt & Pepper to season

  • Mix together all Dressing Ingredients in a large bowl.

  • Add all finely chopped and grated veg.

Method

  1. Mix the mayonnaise, vinegar and honey or maple syrup in a large bowl.

  2. Finely slice Savoy Cabbage, Celery and spring onion. Grate Carrots and cut apple into matchstick-size pieces.

  3. Put veg into the bowl with the dressing and toss well. Add salt and pepper to season if you'd like.

Note: You can substitute Spring Onion for finely chopped Red Onion if you'd like more kick. Sweet corn is also nice to add when in season.
